The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlighted today in Toques “the social dimension and the determined commitment of the Government to improve the welfare and quality of life of the neighbors who live in rural municipalities”, which is exemplified by the new plan “The Administration Near You”, launched by the Ministry of Territorial Policy with the collaboration of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which brings administrative procedures to 67 municipalities in Coruña, 72% of the municipalities in the province.
María Rivas visited the Nature Classroom of the City of Toques accompanied by the mayor, José Ángel Dolores, and saw the good response of the citizens to this program “with which we take the State to the municipalities themselves, facilitating life for the inhabitants who live in these localities and strengthening territorial structuring and equal opportunities,” said María Rivas.
Likewise, the subdelegate stressed that currently the new technologies allow citizens to access a multitude of online procedures and electronic procedures, but that access to digital administration “requires adequate means and knowledge in the use of technological tools, something that some of the older population finds more difficult.”
“In this way, the Government fights the digital divide and strengthens social cohesion by offering a closer and more useful administration,” said María Rivas, who thanked the efforts and dedication of the officials of the Government Subdelegation to reach rural municipalities with “La Administración Cerca de Ti.”
With this program, every week the technical staff of the Administration moves to the municipalities so that their inhabitants can carry out administrative procedures such as the digital certificate, know the working life, renew the driving license or inform themselves about employment or housing programs, among others.
The program “The Administration Near You” has already passed through the municipalities of Valdoviño, Coristanco, Irixoa, Mesía, Coirós, A Capela, Curtis, Sobrado, Frades, Oroso, Vedra, Melide, Boimorto, Vimianzo and Fisterra.
The subdelegate stressed the commitment of the Government of Spain to attend to rural municipalities, highlighting that the demographic challenge is one of its main axes of action. “We want the State to be more present in the territory and, in particular, in the least populated municipalities, so that no one is left behind,” he concluded.
