The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, praised the professional trajectory of the new head of the local police station of the National Police in Plasencia, Juan Manuel de la Cruz. At the inauguration ceremony held this morning at the Las Claro Cultural Center in the city, the delegate praised the chief inspector, whom he described as “a clear example of delivery, preparation and public service.”
During his speech, Quintana stressed that Juan Manuel de la Cruz Cruz represents the essential values that distinguish the National Police: “Loyalty, vocation, professionalism and closeness”. The government delegate has highlighted the “brilliant performance” of the new chief in the police stations of Badalona, Badajoz and Cáceres, leading areas such as Narcotics, Foreigners or Citizen Security.
Juan Manuel de la Cruz has spent almost three decades in the National Police Force, since his entry in 1997 as a student inspector at the National Police School of Ávila. The new head of the Plasencia Police Station has a degree in Law from the University of Extremadura, a degree in Police Science from the University of Salamanca and has complementary training in Communication. In his police career he has received more than a hundred public congratulations and decorations.
The government delegate in Extremadura has highlighted the work of the National Police in the region, a body that last 2024 celebrated 200 years of history. “Two centuries protecting our freedoms, guaranteeing the democratic coexistence, fighting crime, defending the most vulnerable and always being present when it is most needed,” he said.
José Luis Quintana has expressed his gratitude to those who are part of the National Police Force. “Your work is indispensable and your commitment is irreplaceable,” he said.
