The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, attended today the commemorative event of the 50th anniversary of the Casa de Extremadura in Seville, held at the Cajasol Theater. This meeting has brought together numerous people from Extremadura and Extremadura who, over five decades, have kept alive the identity and roots of the region in Sevillian lands.
The event served to recall the history of this institution, which was born in 1975, when a group of Extremadura and Extremadura decided to join together to create a space that would allow them to keep alive their traditions, culture and ties with Extremadura.
During his speech, José Luis Quintana highlighted the importance of institutions such as this one to strengthen the ties between Extremadura and Andalusia, and to preserve the memory and culture of the region of Extremadura. “The Casa de Extremadura in Seville is an example of how the commitment and enthusiasm of its founders have managed to keep the identity of Extremadura alive throughout all these years,” said the delegate.
The event has also featured cultural performances, testimonies from founding members and the screening of a video that includes the most outstanding milestones of these fifty years of history.
The government delegate in Extremadura expressed his wish that this celebration will serve as an impetus to continue strengthening the ties between the two autonomous communities and to enhance the work of the House in promoting the culture, traditions and values of Extremadura in other territories.
