The Government Delegation in Extremadura has received recognition from the Platform of Volunteering in Extremadura in an event that has served to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the entity. The event took place at the Assembly of Extremadura, in Mérida, under the title “Building volunteering: regulation and commitment”.
This event has distinguished the work and commitment to volunteering, as well as the reference trajectories, of four public institutions, including the Government Delegation in Extremadura. The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, highlighted in his speech the close relationship between the representation of the Government of Spain in the region and the Third Sector Platform. Quintana has stressed the “double value” of volunteering, since helping the most vulnerable represents at the same time the best of society.
The delegate has called for the value of “those things that restore our trust in the human being” and has set as an example the work of the more than 20,000 volunteers who work to build a better society in Extremadura.
Together with the Government Delegation in Extremadura, in the act of the Volunteering Platform, the Deputations of Cáceres and Badajoz and the City of Mérida have also been recognized, as well as representatives and entities of the Third Sector in Extremadura for their contribution and social work during these 30 years.
