The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today the town of Arroyo de la Luz in Cáceres where he co-chaired with the mayor, Carlos Caro, the Local Security Board to establish the security device for the Day of Light, which will be held on April 21.
During the meeting, the government delegate announced the incorporation of the Local Police in the Comprehensive Monitoring System in Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén). A system that allows the Local Police to directly attend to the protection of victims of gender violence and to have up-to-date information, such as protection orders that are in force and protection measures that affect them.
“With the incorporation of the Local Police of Arroyo de la Luz, there are 9 municipalities in Extremadura covered by the VioGén system. Advancing the coordination between the Local Police and the State Security Forces and Corps is always very important. As public officials, we have an obligation to provide all the tools that help protect women more effectively. We trust that in the coming months there will be new municipalities that will be incorporated into this system,” said Quintana.
