The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today the works of the variant of Malpartida de Cáceres, a project that will help improve road safety and the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area. This action, which has a budget of 43.1 million euros, has been formalized by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The new variant, which extends over 10.7 kilometers and crosses the municipal terms of Cáceres, Casar de Cáceres and Malpartida de Cáceres, includes the duplication of the roadway of the N-521 road between the link with the A-66 motorway and the municipality itself. The main objectives of this project are to improve safety for users, reduce long-distance heavy traffic in the area and reduce noise and air pollution.
During his visit, Quintana highlighted the importance of this work not only for Malpartida de Cáceres, but for the whole region. "The Spanish Government's commitment to improving the infrastructure in Extremadura is firm. This variant will not only facilitate transit, but will also contribute to the accessibility of nearby towns such as Arroyo de la Luz and other municipalities in the west of Cáceres," he said.
The project of the Malpartida de Cáceres variant is framed within a broader investment that includes up to 659 million euros of Next Generation EU funds, destined to the modernization and improvement of the State Road Network
