The Minimum Vital Income payroll reaches 25,006 households in Extremadura in January where 75,991 people live together
The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) payroll in January reached 25,006 households in Extremadura where 75,991 people live, according to the latest statistics published by the National Social Security Institute (INSS). The average amount of the benefit is 436.67 euros per household and, overall, this month’s payroll has amounted to 11.75 million euros.
In the month of January, there are 5,655 active benefits more than there were a year ago, which means an increase of 29.22%. These households are home to 18,047 beneficiaries more than those registered in January 20243 (+31.15%).
In cumulative terms since June 2020, when this benefit was launched, in the midst of a pandemic, the IMV has reached 34,473 homes and protected the 102,515 people who are part of them; 43,409 of them are children and adolescents, 42.3% of the total.
Since the entry into force of this policy, Social Security has allocated 413.5 million euros to pay the payroll for IMV benefits in Extremadura.
Underage
The IMV is a benefit aimed at preventing the risk of poverty and social exclusion of people who live alone or are integrated into a coexistence unit and lack basic economic resources. In addition, one of its main objectives is to address child poverty.
74.1% of the living units receiving this benefit in Extremadura are households with minors (18,536). Among them, there are .4,214 single-parent households. If we look at the profile of the beneficiaries of the IMV, 40.7% are minors: 30,989
The beneficiaries of the IMV are also characterized by having a strong female profile. In October, 76.1% of headlines and 53.5% of beneficiaries in Extremadura are women.
On the other hand, 94.1% of the total number of holders are of Spanish nationality and their average age is 43 years.
