The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today the rehabilitation works of the quartering of the Civil Guard in Coria, a project that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain. This initiative has a total investment of 970,000 euros, of which 800,000 euros are contributed through the Ministry of the Interior and 170,000 euros by the Diputación de Cáceres, which has shown its commitment and collaboration in improving the infrastructures of the rural environment.
During his visit, Quintana highlighted the importance of these works, which include the exterior insulation of facades and roofs, as well as the installation of solar panels and an efficient interior lighting system. “This type of action not only improves the working conditions of our agents, but is also a fundamental step to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens in our localities,” said the government delegate.
Quintana has stressed that the rehabilitation of this Civil Guard headquarters is a clear example of how sustainability and security can be combined. “We are investing in the rural environment, because we firmly believe that the safety of our citizens should not depend on their location. Everyone deserves to have the resources to live in a safe and secure environment,” he added.
The collaboration between the Government of Spain and other administrations is essential to carry out projects that have a positive impact on the lives of the inhabitants of the region. The Diputación de Cáceres has allocated over the last two years more than 520,000 euros for the improvement of the quartering of the Civil Guard in Coria, Cáceres, Plasencia, Jarandilla de la Vera and Arroyo de la Luz, with the aim of adapting these public buildings to give a better service to the citizens.
