The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, has today highlighted in Badajoz the importance of the existing collaboration between Local Police and State Security Forces and Bodies to improve and guarantee the levels of citizen security.
Quintana has intervened today in the commemorative events of the Local Police Day in Badajoz where he has highlighted that Extremadura remains the safest autonomous community in Spain with a rate of 33.6 crimes per thousand inhabitants in the first quarter of 2024, according to the data collected in the Crime Balance prepared by the Ministry of the Interior. This rate is 18.5 crimes less than the national average.
During his speech, the delegate explained that the Local Police provides closeness, physical proximity and empathy and that this contributes very positively in the resolution of many complicated situations that citizens of any location sometimes face; and that they also contribute undoubtedly in the application and effectiveness of public policies.
In this regard, Quintana has expressed its willingness to continue strengthening any mechanism of collaboration in the different security bodies such as the incorporation of the Local Police of Badajoz into the Viogen system to increase the security of women victims of gender violence.
Finally, the delegate congratulated the winners of this event and all the public servants, persons or entities that have stood out for their work for the benefit of general and collective interests.
