The Magic Autumn of the Ambroz Valley (Cáceres) has been declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest for its ability to turn autumn into a festival of nature, with a tourist, environmental and territorial cohesion vocation, as well as highlighting the cultural and patrimonial elements of the region.
This festival is characterized by the development of activities of various kinds in which the importance of nature, livestock, and gastronomy linked to tradition during the splendid months of the autumn season is renowned.
The Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosario Sánchez, has highlighted “the efforts of public and private groups in the region, led by the Association for the Integral Development of the Ambroz Valley (DIVA), so that tourism generates wealth and well-being for all citizens throughout the year, and that this industry advances hand in hand with the exceptional patrimonial and natural wealth of the region.”
Likewise, Sánchez has highlighted the contribution of this celebration to the tourist de-seasonalization of the region, traditionally very focused around spring and, above all, summer.
The Magic Autumn takes place from the end of October to the beginning of December in the Ambroz Valley, a community formed by eight municipalities in the north of the province of Cáceres with a population of approximately 8,000 inhabitants. It was recognized Festival of National Tourist Interest in 2017, which allowed it to continue growing in repercussions and visitors.
With the declaration of the Magic Autumn of Cáceres, the number of Festivities of International Tourist Interest that Spain has, four of them in Extremadura, is 81.
