Underage
The IMV is a benefit aimed at preventing the risk of poverty and social exclusion of people who live alone or are integrated into a coexistence unit and lack basic economic resources. In addition, one of its main objectives is to address child poverty.
72.7% of the living units receiving this benefit in July are households with minors (17,126). Among them, there are 4,002 single-parent households. If we look at the profile of the beneficiaries of the IMV, 40.5% are minors: 28,805.
If the statistics are disaggregated by means of access to the benefit, it is seen that the beneficiaries of the IMV-CAPI (Child Support Supplement) this month reach 9,857 households. This form of IMV involves an aid of 115 euros per household per month in the case of children from 0 to 3 years; 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years; and 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years. The average amount of the supplement this month has been 32.4 euros for each minor.
The beneficiaries of the IMV are also characterized by having a strong female profile. In June, 75,272 of the headlines and 53.6% of the beneficiaries in Extremadura are women.
On the other hand, 94.1% of the total number of holders are of Spanish nationality and their average age is 43 years.
