The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, participated today in the presentation of the information campaign on the “X solidarity” carried out by the Third Sector Platform of Extremadura, where he encouraged citizens to mark the X in box 106 of the income statement to help the most vulnerable people.
The event was held in the Government Delegation in Extremadura and in addition to the Government delegate, the president of the Third Sector Platform of Extremadura, Carmen Pereira, the Minister of Health and Social Services, Sara García and representatives of the different associations that are part of the Third Sector Platform were present.
During his speech, Quintana explained that a “very small” part of our taxes, barely 0.7 percent, is aimed at the most vulnerable people, but he insisted that we must be aware that with our taxes we pay for public health, education, roads, all aid to companies, self-employed and workers, the safety of all, “and so many things that allow us to live in a modern and advanced society.”
The government delegate has said that 56 percent of Extremadura’s tax filers marked the solidarity X in the last income tax return, three points more than the national average, but “we have to get that 44 percent that still does not mark the box to do so”.
Finally, Quintana has thanked all the organizations that work in the Third Sector for the effort and dedication they give to the most vulnerable.
