The government delegate in Extremadura, Francisco Mendoza, participated today in Badajoz in the celebration of Los Angeles Custodios, patron of the National Police, where he highlighted the prestige of this security force “that has been able to adapt at all times to the new types of crime that have been emerging”.
In this regard, Mendoza acknowledged sharing with the National Police the concern about the statistical increase in cybercrime and especially that which may affect the integrity of minors and the heritage of the elderly. “Two particularly vulnerable sectors of the population,” he said.
Thus, he said, “while looking at traditional crimes we must look at new crimes, we must mentalize that women, minors and seniors, the most vulnerable in our society, have been targeted in the priority objective of offenders” and he also made a reference to hate crimes.
The government delegate also referred to the events that have taken place recently in the town of Almendralejo, related to the distribution of false images of minors. Mendoza congratulated the police on the work done and the speed with which the investigation has been carried out and drew attention to the need for social commitment to avoid or undermine this type of behavior.
Mendoza congratulated the 20 decorated ones to whom he addressed a few words, also for the five people who received an award outside the National Police Force and especially had a few words for the policeman who in January saved a girl from a choking in the Cavalcade of Kings of Badajoz. In addition, he congratulated the former delegates and former delegates of the Government who were recognized today.
“Look, in these 45 years of democracy we have learned that by walking together we advance more, that every time we have been united we have been able to face any challenge as a society. Now we are facing a new challenge that especially affects women and minors; the elderly and the different,” he concluded.
