Today the DGT’s special summer operation has begun, with around 1,529,000 trips expected, 1.75% more than last year. Of this number, 917,500 would be in Badajoz and 611,500 in Cáceres. It will be divided into three phases: the first, which will take place from today to Sunday, July 2; the second, from Saturday, July 1 to Thursday, July 31; and the third, which will take place throughout the month of August.
On the roads of the province of Badajoz, an approximate figure of 35,650 trips is estimated in the first phase, 482,300 in the second and 435,300 in the third. The busiest roads in the province these months will be the A-5, A-66, N-430 and N-523. In the latter, there will be a regulated stretch with traffic lights and speed limited to 30 km/h in the pk. 45,000.
On the other hand, in the province of Cáceres it is planned that 23,750 vehicles will travel during the first phase, 321,300 during the second and 290,300 in the third. The roads with the most traffic will be the A-5, A-66 and EX A1, highlighting the stretch of the A-5 of Navalmoral de la Mata in the pk. 174,000 sense Madrid, where it is possible that there are retentions due to traffic intensity. In the N110 in its passage through Cabezuela del Valle, there will be semaphoric regulation of the pk. 361.100 to 361.300 by narrowing of the bridge roadway.
Security Tips
It is recommended to plan the trip in advance, not to forget the documentation and perform a complete overhaul of the vehicle. Check levels of brake fluid, oil, and windshield wipers, as well as lighting and battery, brakes, steering, and tires.
Another vital measure to increase road safety is to travel at an adequate speed throughout the journey, not to impose an hour of arrival at the destination and maintain the safety distance, signalling the manoeuvres in advance.
When traveling in such hot times, it is important to take care of the hydration of all occupants of the vehicle, especially if you are traveling with elderly people, children and pets. Don’t make copious meals and rest
every two hours. As well as placing the load properly.
End to the use of triangles on motorways and motorways
One of the novelties of this summer, is that from July 1, the use of hazard pre-signalling triangles on motorways and motorways in case of immobilisation of the vehicle due to accident or breakdown is exempt. Its use remains mandatory when these circumstances occur in conventional ways.
