The government delegate, Francisco Mendoza, participated today in the event for the 199th anniversary of the National Police and awarded diplomas to retired agents during 2022, where he expressed his concern about the increase in cybercrime, as well as cases of violence against women.
“Some of you here have shared with me the concern about the statistical increase in cybercrime and especially that which may affect the privacy and integrity of minors and the heritage of the elderly. I have to tell you that I maintain my absolute faith that we will also prevail in the face of this type of crime,” said the government representative in that regard.
In order to fight against it and also against the scourge of gender-based violence, Francisco Mendoza pointed to training, preparation and specialization as “weapons”.
“I feel a moral obligation to give you a call to pay special attention to the fight against gender violence. We must continue to strive to protect victims at their most basic stage so that we can avoid the most serious consequences of this social disease,” said Francisco Mendoza, in whose opinion, “no decent society can withstand the numbers of women killed for their status as women in just over a month. “I know that a lot of good work has already been done, but I ask you, if possible, for more attention,” he added.
Body Strength Increase
Currently, Extremadura has reached 4,050 members of the National Police and Civil Guard, the highest figure in the last 10 years thanks to the 7.9 percent increase in the workforce, promoted by the Ministry of Interior in the last four years.
In these four years, Extremadura has recovered 75.8 percent of the seats lost in previous years of government and in the case of the National Police, the number of troops has increased from 1,020 to 1,178, which has meant an increase of 15.5 percent.
