The Subdelegate of the Government in Valencia, José Rodríguez, has reported that the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) of the Government of Spain has involved an investment of 6,229 million euros for the Valencian Community in the first six months of the year. Of the total, 3,451 million euros come from calls and tenders from the General State Administration (AGE) and 2,778 million euros have been allocated in sectoral conferences. The PRTR has reached a total of 120,763 beneficiaries.
In this regard, Rodríguez recalled that “the government of Pedro Sánchez allocates more money than ever to the Comunitat”. “This government has not stopped moving forward and modernizing our Comunitat to combat injustices and improve the quality of life of Valencians”, he added.
Thanks to the PRTR, Adif has earmarked, from January to June of this year, 736 million euros for actions in maintenance works, centralized traffic control, safety and security facilities and energy supply systems in the Encina-Xàtive-València section of the Mediterranean Corridor (159.7 M€). In addition, the construction of the new access channel of the High Speed in the city of València and the expansion of the parking lot and the Joaquín Sorolla station (105 M€) continue to advance, works for which there is a planned investment of 665 M€; or works for the new railway access south to the Port of Castellón (88 M€), which have a global investment of 335.5 M€.
For its part, Renfe has allocated 60,665 euros for a new software that controls access to Neighbourhoods and for the tariff integration of titles on the contactless card Mobilis of the Metropolitan Transport Authority of Valencia.
On roads, from January to June, more than 17 million euros have been mobilized for actions such as the improvement of the crossing in Vinaròs (Castellón), the conditioning of the N-332 road in Valencia or the LED lighting of the Pilar de la Horadada Tunnel (Alicante) in the AP-7.
With regard to the ports, 103.3 million euros have been allocated which, in addition to the southern railway access project to the Port of Castellón, also include electrification for supply to ships of the docks 17,15, 13 and 11, or the improvement of the energy efficiency of the western lighting of the Port of Alicante.
In sustainable and digital mobility, 102.4 million euros have been invested for projects in low-emission areas such as the actions in eleven municipalities of the province of Alicante (46.7 M€), in four municipalities of Castellón (15.2 M€) and in six municipalities of the province of Valencia (40.4 M€).
Within the scope of reindustrialization and PERTES in the first half of 2025, the subdelegate stressed that, through the PERTE VEC, the Government has allocated 280.8 million euros to the Valencian Community, of which 274.4 million euros have been loans and 5.8 million euros subsidies, in two lines of action: the promotion of demand for electric vehicles and industrial development.
For the PERTE of the Circular Economy, the Valencian Community has received 5.9 million euros for seven companies. In the case of PERTE Agro, 74.3 million euros have been received and the decarbonization PERTE is 96.4 million euros for six projects, among which stand out the 75.0 M€ for the green hydrogen Cobra in Cartagena and Castellón. In the Aerospace PERTE, the investment has exceeded 104 million euros, while the ERHA PERTE has distributed 92.6 million euros between different lines of action.
In the field of Water and Environment, the Government has distributed 57.4 million euros to improve the sustainability, efficiency and digitalization of more than 33,430 hectares of irrigation in the Comunitat. Through the PERTE del Agua, more than 111 million euros have been received for the digitization of basins, the urban water cycle or irrigation communities.
In addition, the Government has allocated about 43 million euros to the field of Territorial Cohesion, for the improvement of energy efficiency. In Digitalization and Science, the 177 million euros of the PERTE of Avant-Garde Health or the 46 million of the R&D Call for Ecological Transition stand out.
Finally, within the area of Social Policies, through the Social Economy PERTE, more than 227 million euros have been allocated to the Valencian Community for the financing of public facilities, the Social Services Modernization Plan or the Accessibility Program, among others. And in terms of Trade, Tourism and Culture, the 32 million euros stand out for the improvement of the historical heritage or the 20 million euros for the program of support to markets and shops in urban and rural areas.
“The welfare state is strengthened”
According to the data provided by the subdelegate, there are currently 2,220,431 people employed in the Valencian Community, a figure that means 360,004 more than in June 2018. There are 672,282 indefinite contracts, 209% more than in 2019, and 306,400 workers receive the minimum wage and therefore benefit from its increase. In addition, the average pension has stood at 1,348 euros per month, which is 396 euros more than in 2018.
A total of 220,412 people benefit from the electric social bond and 249,948 are the beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income. With the policies of the Government of Spain, said Rodríguez, “the welfare state is strengthened. It is the Spain that adds up and continues, that advances strongly and in the best of directions.”
