The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the General Head of the 6th Zone of the Civil Guard in the Valencian Community, Arturo Prieto, has presided over the inauguration of Alfonso Martín as Colonel Head of the Command of the Civil Guard in Castellón
Bernabé has highlighted “the extensive professional career and dedication” of Colonel Martin who faces “two great challenges” such as “cybercrime and the fight against gender violence”. In this last point, the delegate has indicated that male violence is “one of the most cruel forms of terrorism against women.” “This obliges us – as he added – to continue working so that the State Pact is carried out and complied with in all territories, but also to make an appeal to the environments, to the families, to the neighbors, to the neighbors: all of us can become a violet point.” In this line, he said that “we need to warn, to alarm before a situation where we consider that there may be a danger, it is essential to denounce”. In the Valencian Community, more than 17,000 women are within the VioGen system and protected, therefore, by the State Security Forces and Bodies and therefore it is necessary that “the complaints are carried out to protect women. We are all involved in this relentless fight against gender violence.”
In relation to cybercrime, the delegate has indicated that “this new form of crime obliges the administration to continue training new agents to remain effective and one of the most prestigious bodies in the world”. Barnabas added that “there is also progress in equality so that more and more women climb the Civil Guard and enter this body more and more similar to the society it represents”.
The Civil Guard works in 135 municipalities in the province of Castellón where they perform, as the delegate pointed out, “an exceptional work”.
