The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has visited the actions being carried out by the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation in the municipality after the damage of October 29.
During the visit to the restoration works of the Poyo Ravine waterway between Paiporta, Massanassa , Catarroja and La Albufera, the delegate pointed out that the Government of Spain, through the CHJ “transforms and strengthens the hydraulic safety of the ravine with an investment of 9.5 million euros. “It’s not just about restoring what was already there, it’s about investing and protecting to transform infrastructure and be more resilient for the future,” said Bernabé. With these works, he added, “the Government of Spain responds.”
Massanassa has received 68.5 million euros from the Government of Spain after the damage, of which almost 55 million euros are to cover 100% of the damage to municipal infrastructures.
The Government of Spain “is making a special effort in all the ravines and in the canals with an investment of 752 million euros”. Of these, 222 million euros are mainly for emergency works. In addition, it has allocated 530 million of the Flood Resilience Plan, among which are the 90 million works for the Saleta ravine. “This is,” said Barnabas, “the real useful policy: the one that transforms and protects.”
