The Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, highlighted “the commitment of the Government of Spain in the reconstruction of Catarroja to which it has allocated a total investment of more than 210 million euros”. Of these, 138 million euros are destined for the works of repair or reconstruction of facilities or services of municipal ownership that are comprehensively financed by the Government of Spain.
For its part, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility through Adif has allocated 2 million euros to the rehabilitation of four mobility infrastructures of municipal ownership. Among these actions is the rehabilitation of the underground passage of the train tracks at the height of Pelayo Street, which is already operational and which has been visited today by the delegate together with the mayor of the town, Lorena Silvent. More than 100,000 euros have been allocated to this infrastructure. In addition, action has been taken in the Eastern Round at the height of Calvary Street and in the lower pass of pedestrians next to the station, which are already in operation. Work is also being done on the pedestrian/cyclist walkway over the Poyo ravine between Massanassa and Catarroja, “which had to be demolished and is already in the phase of executing stirrups for the assembly of the new one”, said the delegate.
Detail of the works
In addition to the pedestrian/cyclist walkway that has been necessary to redesign and build, in the other infrastructures there has been action in the cleaning of waste, sludge and other remains after the drags caused by the dana. It has also carried out the cleaning of drains and grids, the repair or replacement of pumping wells, signage and lighting and the reconstruction of curbs, sidewalks, handrails and handrails, the adaptation and painting of sides and upper parts of walls and the refurbishment of roads.
Other performances: the Albufera Natural Park
The delegate also referred to the actions being carried out by the Government of Spain for the recovery of the Albufera. At this point, he regretted “the clamorous absence of the Generalitat Valenciana in the Albufera Natural Park”. It is, as he said, “the Government of Spain, through the Ministry of Agriculture, the only one that is working to recover the Albufera and the one that is investing clearly and decisively in the park”. In this regard, he pointed out that it would be desirable for “the Generalitat to collaborate and contribute to the recovery of such an important and valuable natural space for Valencians and Valencians as the Albufera”.
