·The work focuses on the repair of slopes, the removal of obstructive waste and the adequacy of access to the ravine
·The work, which extends over 7 kilometers, has a budget of 20M€
·The delegate stresses that “the reconstruction after the dana advances with the investment and the absolute commitment of the Government”
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has visited together with the mayor of Paiporta, Maribel Albalat, the works that are being carried out in the ravine of the Poyo as it passes through the municipal term. “The reconstruction after the dana advances with the investment and the absolute commitment of the Government of Spain to reach all the affected points,” said the delegate. This implies, “in addition to the urban hulls of the municipalities, the recovery of natural surfaces such as fields, rural roads and irrigation and, of course, the ravines,” he said.
Therefore, according to the delegate, the Government of Spain, through the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar (CHJ), “rebuilds, strengthens and heals” the Poyo ravine as it passes through Paiporta, Picanya, Massanassa and Catarroja. It is an action that extends over seven kilometers - from Picanya to the crossing with the Silla track - and to which 20 million euros have been allocated for the repair of slopes, the removal of obstructive waste and the adequacy of access to the ravine. To this end, the Confederation is going to focus on repairing or reconstructing the protective motorcycles, while at the same time carrying out auscultation work on the containment systems to check their condition. In this regard, the delegate pointed out that “a technical and geotechnical study of the parts, especially those that are cemented, has been carried out to have the security and tranquility that they are effectively in good condition and that they have not suffered greater damage after the damage”. In addition, he added, “we have in place a general study of all the channels and ravines that are going to have a deeper intervention in the coming times.”
It is a question, the delegate said, “not only of recomposing the original aspect of the ravine banks prior to 29O, but also of strengthening and improving them”. In fact, “one of the great objectives of reconstruction is to improve the pre-dana conditions and adapt them appropriately to respond to the challenge of climate change,” he said.
