·“The Spanish Government is investing in Valencia like no other in the history of this city: more than 4,700M€”, said Bernabé
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has visited the works of the new facilities of the Tax Agency (AEAT) and the different areas of the Ministry of Finance. Currently, the different services are dispersed throughout the city and, in addition, the buildings, with the exception of the complex of the Maritime Customs of Valencia and the Delegation of Economy and Finance and Cadastre of the C/ Roger de Lauria, are leased, which has led the Government of Spain to undertake the construction of this new headquarters. With the new offices, said Bernabé, “the Government guarantees a closer and more useful administration by centralizing all services in the same building.”
The work, which is expected to last 48 months, takes place at C/ Luís García Berlanga, number 23, and has a budget of more than €72M. The building will house a staff of close to 1,800 people. And in it all the units will be integrated, except the Regional Customs Unit, which will be installed in the complex of the Maritime Customs of València, recently rehabilitated.
With this project, said Bernabé, “the necessary resources will be provided” to the representation of the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Agency in Valencia, “so that they can face, in the appropriate framework, the provision of the public service they have entrusted”.
Building description
The new building, which occupies the entire plot of about 7000m2, consists of three basements and two bodies: one on the south facade, with 9 floors above ground, and another to the north, with 7 floors also above ground. The first of them returns perpendicularly through the east and west facades to link through the communication cores with the second body, leaving between both a large patio from the ground floor ceiling.
The total built area of the project is more than 53,350 m2, of which more than 33,200m2 correspond to plants above ground and the rest to plants below ground.
This project, according to the delegate, “is another example of the commitment of the Government of Spain to the city of València and the whole of the Valencian Community”.
The biggest investment in the history of the city: more than 4,700M€
The delegate pointed out that “the Government of Spain is investing in Valencia like no other in the history of this city: more than 4,700M€”. Among other investments, the delegate has highlighted those carried out in railway infrastructures, such as the Access Channel, “which will weave all the neighborhoods of the south of València and which will generate a large green space for the areas of the south, provided that the city council collaborates to do so”.
Other investments – Bernabé recalled – are those developed on the coast, on the beaches of southern València “where a great commitment to the regeneration of beaches has also been carried out” and in the Port of València, “with an investment that also depends on the Government of Spain”.
In addition, the delegate highlighted “the great investment effort in the improvement of security infrastructures” such as that made in the adaptation of the Zapadores Police Station, which has had more than 30 million euros and which “will be a reality in a few weeks”.
“They are all direct investments in the city by the Government of Spain and they will continue to do so.” In this sense, it has reviewed the more than 137 million euros received by the city of València to rebuild 100% all the buildings and municipal infrastructures affected by the dana.
