The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has inaugurated the seminar Initiatives from the social economy for the recovery of villages affected by the dana, organized by the University Institute of Research in Social Economy, Cooperativism and Entrepreneurship.
In this event, he highlighted the importance of the social economy as “a resilient and transformative solution for all communities affected by the dana”. “There will be no normality,” said the delegate, “if it does not focus from the perspective of cooperation, solidarity and sustainability.” For this reason, the Government of Spain “has wanted to extend the labor shield to cooperatives”, has implemented extraordinary measures worth 16.6 billion euros and has assumed 100% of the damaged municipal infrastructures and with aid to the third sector.
Bernabé pointed out that “these conferences seek, as does the Government of Spain, to work in a coordinated and joint way between administrations, civil entities, social entities and also the economic field and public-private collaboration.” All of this, he added, “is fundamental and vital for the reconstruction of Valencia.” The delegate stressed that the goal “is not to be as before October 29. We have to take advantage of this crisis to get better and stronger.”
