The Government Delegation in the Valencian Community has claimed the role of women who worked and work in the dana and in the recovery of the affected areas. This event, which is one of those celebrated by the Government Delegation on the occasion of the 8M, International Women’s Day, has been presided over by the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, together with the Government delegate, Pilar Bernabé.
The minister thanked all the recognized women for their work and said that “they are a point of reference and the inspiration to move forward”. They are a total of 20 women from various institutions, entities and companies that represent the role developed by many others during the most dramatic moments of the dana that devastated the province of Valencia and during the recovery. Ana Redondo stressed that “the Government of Spain has been and will be as long as it takes in the areas affected by the dana”
For her part, the delegate highlighted “the role of women in the face of adversity” and “the effort and talent” of all those recognized “who were and are helping their neighbors.”
The recognitions have fallen on:
-María Andrés. General Secretary of the Government Delegation in the Valencian Community, for the organization of the administrative response during the dana and in the reconstruction
-Patricia García. Head of the Civil Protection Unit of Valencia, for her constant work at the head of this area, vital from the first moment of the emergency
-Beatriz Roca. Lieutenant of the Principal Post of the Paiporta, for his outstanding intervention during the days after the dana.
-Cristina Arjona. National Police Commissioner in the police station of Xirivella, Aldaia and Alaquàs and her outstanding intervention in the localities where she serves
- Mª Sol Conde. Chief Commissioner of the National Police Corps Unit, attached to the Valencian Community, for her involvement in the coordination of the troops of her unit with the rest of the Security Forces and Corps
-Reyes Martínez. Captain of the III UME Battalion, for her participation in the WFP of Paiporta.
-Patricia Soriano. First bomber of the Provincial Fire Consortium of Valencia, belonging to the Altitude Rescue Unit, for its ethics, commitment and teamwork
-Marian Lianes. Agent of the Local Police of Catarroja, for his role at street level in the municipality of Catarroja.
-Purification Beltran. Head of the Integral Forensic Assessment Unit of Valencia and member of the forensic victim identification device.
- Laura Ortiz. Director of Institutional Relations of Regulatory Coordination of REPSOL, for the collaboration provided by REPSOL in the emergency / recovery tasks.
-Mª Teresa Sánchez. Owner of the bakery of Chiva, for being an example of the small businesswomen who have resumed their activity after the dana.
- Patricia Peris. Provincial head of the ATENPRO service and Red Cross Women’s Program, for being an example of the door-to-door attention given to the most vulnerable people.
- Mª Luisa Fitor. Pharmaceutical company of Gandia on behalf of the women volunteers who from the first day turned to provide help to the affected municipalities.
-Laura Pérez. Viticultora de Requena, for making visible the situation that farmers have faced in the dana.
-Inés Galindo. Senior scientist and director of the Territorial Unit of the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain belonging to the CSIC that has successfully tested thickening products to absorb water from garages damaged by the dana.
-Amparo Comes. Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community and president of the Band of the Musical Union of Aldaia, for his work in the recovery of the cultural world.
-Amaia Recuero. Paiporta’s Fallera Mayor Infantil for her resilience and ability to adapt, and in representation of the illusion of childhood to keep our parties
-Veronica Bosch. President of the Paiporta Industrial Estate Association (APIP), for his work in recovering the industrial areas.
-Loreto Ochando. Freelance journalist, for his professional participation in the informative coverage of the consequences of the dana.
- Vanesa Sanchis. Journalist of A Punt, for his professional informative coverage of the dana.
