The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presided together with the Chief Provincial Commissioner of Police of Valencia, Vicente Martínez, and the Lieutenant Colonel Chief of Operations of the Sixth Zone of the Civil Guard, Francisco Javier Archilla, among others, the minute of silence called at the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government in condemnation of the latest machista murder of Castelló and in support of the relatives of the victim.
Pilar Bernabé pointed out that “trivialising, minimising and trying to draw attention to this fight against gender violence does not contribute at all. It is necessary that the citizens demand that all the administrations coordinate and that we work as a real pact of State, of all, against this sexist terrorism that kills women for the mere fact of being so.”
In this sense, he added that “only having a social awareness of being a whole will make us be alert and take sides in this relentless fight against gender violence.”
With the woman murdered in Castelló there are 33 victims of gender-based violence in Spain so far this year, the sixth in the Valencian Community.
The minutes of silence were also held in the subdelegations of Valencia, Alicante and Castellón.
