The delegate of the Government, Pilar Bernabé, has inaugurated the Security Training Day in the inland municipalities, aimed at enhancing prevention and citizen security in the summer season, which has been held in L´Alcúdia.
This day is aimed at the Local Police of the interior municipalities of the province of Valencia, who can see an increase in their population during the summer months, as well as the National Police and Civil Guard competent in the territorial demarcation.
The Valencian Community and, in particular, the province of Valencia, said the delegate, "is one of the most touristic in our country. The forecasts predict a record summer and that also has to do with the drive that in recent years has experienced inland tourism." For Barnabas, this represents “an economic incentive for our interior districts and helps to combat the phenomenon of depopulation, but it can cause an increase in the workload for the security forces in the summer months.”
The population increase, in the words of Pilar Bernabé, requires “a coordination between bodies, which is fundamental to ensure the survival of our model of coexistence”. The delegate assures that "safety is an issue that competes with all administrations and all bodies. The Comunitat Valenciana is a safe place thanks to your constant work and your daily dedication."
The day, in which a hundred people have participated, has had presentations given by representatives of the State Security Forces and Bodies and the Local Police of L'Alcúdia and Alzira, in which topics such as prevention and security measures in municipalities; road safety and the prevention of accidents in tourist season; planning and coordination between Local Police and FCSE; the prevention of crimes against natural resources; and police self-protection measures against terrorist attacks, within the Strengthening of Instruction 6/2007.
The delegate of the Government wanted to transfer the support of the Government of Spain to the Security Forces and Corps, “which is demonstrated by providing them with personnel, as happens with the Public Employment Offer for 2024 approved yesterday, which provides for the incorporation of 5,505 agents to the National Police and Civil Guard squads”. Currently, in the province of Valencia work about 4,200 National Police officers, and more than 3,400 civil guards, which represents 11% more than in 2017.
The Comunitat Valenciana was, last year, the fifth Spanish destination by number of foreign travelers, receiving 10.5 million visitors. In addition, it ranked as the third Autonomous Community in the ranking of national tourism, concentrating 9.9% of the total travel, only behind Andalusia and Catalonia.
