The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presided over the takeover of the new subdelegate of the Government in the province of Castellón, Antonia García Valls.
In this act, Bernabé stressed that “the Government through the Delegation and the subdelegations worked for the creation of spaces for dialogue and institutional collaboration necessary to benefit and improve the lives of the citizens of the Valencian Community”. “Without political distinction,” said the delegate, “all mayors and mayors will be served as the Government has always done.” However, she added, “neither intolerance nor hatred fit in the coordinates of a modern and advanced society such as ours and this Government will always be in front of those who feed confrontation and insult to the different.”
Likewise, “the Government will continue with its zero tolerance line against violence against women. Therefore, the Delegation and the subdelegations “will be very vigilant so that the municipalities comply with the State Pact against Gender Violence”. And “those who deny climate change will not be tolerated either because the 2030 Agenda must be fulfilled yes or yes,” he added.
Bernabé has highlighted the “firm and real commitment of the Government of Spain to the province of Castellón” which has a “historical” investment of more than €1300M along with direct investments to the ceramics sector.
Barnabas also highlighted “the vocation of service” of the new deputy delegate who “has demonstrated for many years and from different responsibilities, her progressive spirit of improving people’s lives”. In addition, the delegate thanked the work carried out over the last five years by Soledad Ten at the head of the Subdelegation in Castellón of which she highlighted “her exceptional work in the management and resolution of difficult situations for the province such as fires and floods, among others”.
On the other hand, García Valls said that the Subdelegation “will reach all peoples so that they feel close to the Government of Spain and can benefit from its policies of social progress.”
García Valls holds a degree in Law from the University of Valencia and a Secondary School teacher in the dual speciality of Business Administration and Business Organization and Management with a place in ownership at the IES ‘Jorge Juan’ in Sagunt (Valencia).
She was councillor of the City of Vall d’Uixó (Castellón) from 1999 to 2015. Speaker of the municipal socialist group, deputy mayor and deputy councilor of the Equality Area in the 2003-2007 legislature. In addition, she has also been a national deputy for Castellón in the general courts during the legislatures of 2004 and 2008.
In addition, she has served in various ministries: Adviser and Deputy Director to the Cabinet of the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare (2018-2020); Parliamentary Adviser to the Cabinet of the Third Vice-Presidency of the Government and Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (2020-2022); and Deputy Director to the Cabinet of the Third Vice-Presidency of the Government and Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (2022-2023). And since last December he had joined the cabinet of the Ministry of Equality.
