The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has held a meeting with TRAGSATEC of the TRAGSA group at the headquarters of the Subdelegation of Alicante, to continue promoting that the different administrations and, especially, the municipalities of less than 5,000 inhabitants, which are the ones that have the least resources, can access the European Next Generation funds managed by the Government of Spain.
In fact, said Bernabé, “the Government of Spain is fully committed to the use of these funds that will facilitate a more competitive country” and therefore, TRAGSATEC is “an opportunity for the Valencian Community to continue attracting European funding”.
The delegate added that the 542 municipalities of the Valencian Community can avail themselves of this service that is “totally free and that will accompany them throughout the process of access and development to the funds”. Bernabé also regretted that the governments of some municipalities “may put at risk subsidies already granted due to their refusal to carry out mainly sustainability projects due to negationist positions”.
TRAGSATEC received in April the commission of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function, through the General Secretariat of European Funds, to carry out the “Service for the assistance and dynamization of the participation of public administrations in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan”.
Given the complexity of the actions and the tight deadlines, TRAGSATEC has focused the initial efforts on municipalities with a population of less than 5,000 inhabitants, although any public administration can be adhered to.
So far, 192 entities of the Valencian Community have joined the service: 53 in Alicante, 69 in Castellón and 70 in València.
The Valencian Community has already received more than 4.4 billion euros from the funds belonging to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which are financing more than 27,000 projects.
