The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, attended the celebration of the United Nations Day that took place in Valencia. In this event that has been held under the motto ‘Youth 4.0: a connected and sustainable future in the Digital Age’, the delegate pointed out that “young people are the future, they are the next generation of leaders that will make global change possible”.
Young people “will play an essential role in achieving a more just, supportive and sustainable world”, words that must be kept in mind for “the maintenance of peace and the defense of international security”. The Government of Spain, said Bernabé, is committed “to globally promote a more human digital transformation, which places people at the center and guarantees their rights”.
In this regard, the delegate said, the UN headquarters in Quart de Poblet is “a global center for digital transformation. It is a UN technology hub and a global reference in cybersecurity and digital services.” As the delegate recalled, this center has meant that Unicef and the International Organization for Migration have begun to relocate their personnel computing departments. A relocation of ICT units from different United Nations entities to Valencia with which “processes are harmonized, digital platforms are unified and bureaucracy is reduced”.
