The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presided in Alicante on the Day of the Patron of the National Police accompanied by the provincial head of the Police, Manuel Lafuente.
In this event, Barnabas highlighted “the commitment of the Government” to increase the presence of women in the National Police. In the province of Alicante, the police exceed 16% of the staff, with an increase in the last year of 10%, according to the delegate.
Bernabé has also highlighted “the pioneering work” of the police in the fight against gender violence, the efforts made in the care of victims and the “close collaboration and coordination” with the Violence Unit of the Government Subdelegation. It has also highlighted the actions of the police in the fight against trafficking and sexual exploitation. According to the data provided by the delegate, so far this year “six organizations have been dismantled, 43 people have been arrested, 32 victims have been released and 28 others have been assisted”.
On the other hand, the delegate has opted for new types of research and constant training “in the face of the danger posed by cybercrime with the aggravating of the irruption of Artificial Intelligence used for the purpose of crime”. The data of the last Report on Cybercrime in Spain places the Valencian Community among the four autonomies with the highest number of criminal offenses of this type. So far this year, the National Police has processed 7,276 complaints in the province of Alicante for technological crimes.
