The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, visited this morning the premises of the Mediterranean Festival 2023, which is held in Gandia from 17 to 19 August. During the tour, he was accompanied by the director of the festival itself, Alfred Sáez, as well as the mayor of the town, José Manuel Prieto.
The festival’s security device will be made up of more than 50 National Police officers and two other teams from the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR), which will guarantee peace of mind to the more than 10,000 people expected to attend daily. In line with the Safe Tourism project, the venue will have a Violet Point from 20h to 04h to prevent possible cases of sexual abuse or assault. “It is necessary to highlight the fact that, in 2023, the Comunitat has 14,000 police personnel, an unprecedented historical record,” said Bernabé.
The delegate has highlighted the effectiveness of the Young Cultural Voucher as a tool for promoting festivals, especially in the Comunitat, whose rate is “one of the highest rates in Spain”. At the same time, it has announced that the economic impact of this activity at regional level is around 400 million euros.
In the festival will perform singers and musical groups such as Vetusta Morla, Leiva or La Casa Azul, all of national indie style. As a novelty, this year it presents the dual fest format, designed for all audiences.
