Carlos Sánchez has taken office as deputy delegate of the Government in Alicante to replace Araceli Poblador. The event was chaired by the government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé.
Bernabé thanked Poblador for his work, which highlighted “his exemplary commitment to public service” in such difficult situations as DANA, the pandemic, the management of refugees from Ukraine and forest fires.
The delegate pointed out that Sánchez has accepted this position “at a crucial time for Spanish and Alicante society in which fundamental values are being questioned”. Thus, he indicated, “you hear denialist speeches about male violence, about climate change and about the policies of progress and development of a strong Europe so fundamental for Spain and the Valencian Community”.
For his part, Carlos Sánchez has pointed out that he assumes this responsibility “with the utmost enthusiasm and with the firm commitment to preserve the rule of law and promote its postulates.” In this sense, he said that Sánchez “there will be no freedom as long as male violence continues to exist because it exists, unfortunately the data show it”. To eliminate this scourge, “all institutions must cooperate and we must also have the commitment of the citizens,” he said.
