The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, attended this morning the pilgrimage to the Monastery of the Holy Face. The event took place without significant incidents, according to the delegate. “This pilgrimage,” said Bernabé, “has passed with success in terms of convocation, security, coexistence and tranquility.”
The established device has hovered around 1,000 troops. Of these, more than 270 agents from different units of the National Police have been distributed along the route to "ensure the safety of all pilgrims and pilgrims", to which have been added the troops of the Civil Guard, Local Police, Red Cross and Civil Protection.
Bernabé has indicated that today’s day “which is very important for the people of Alicante and Alicante, has required an effort and collaboration from all the administrations to guarantee the safety of the thousands of people who have come to the pilgrimage”.
The delegate said that the Subdelegation of the Government in Alicante has installed the Violet Points “that should have been put in by the City of Alicante but since it has not done so, the Government has decided its installation to guarantee the safety of women and young people throughout this day”.
Bernabé recalled that the Violeta Points “are a requirement of the State Pact and for which the City of Alicante receives more than 145,000 euros”. In this regard, he stressed that “we would have liked the City Council to have implemented the Violeta Points, but since it has not done so, the Subdelegation of the Government in Alicante has assumed this issue”.
