Open Administration Week
On March 20, the Open Administration Week of 2023 began throughout Spain, which runs until today. During this Week all the Administrations have opened their doors to the citizens by holding conferences, days, visits or other events organized in order for anyone to have the opportunity to know inside the public organizations and how public services are provided.
The Week, promoted and coordinated by the Ministry of Finance and Public Function, through the General Directorate of Public Governance, is an initiative promoted worldwide by the Alliance for Open Government, to which Spain belongs since its foundation in 2011.
Its objective is for all States and Communities members of Alianza to develop events to bring governments and administrations closer to citizens and promote the values of transparency and accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and social collaboration.
Spain, with the organization of 500 activities, was in 2022 leader among the 77 member countries of the Alliance for Open Government. In 2023, our country has broken this record, having registered more than 1,000 events on the Transparency Portal. Of the 1,009 registered activities, 694 have been organized by the General Administration of the State, 152 by the Autonomous Administrations, 18 by the Local Administration, 13 by the Universities and 127 by other entities of the public sector. Civil society organizations have also participated.
