The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, has endorsed the Ministerial Order approving the review and adaptation of the General Urban Planning Plan of the Autonomous City of Ceuta. After its signature, the Ministerial Order must be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The new Plan replaces the current one, which dates from 15 July 1992 and is therefore more than 30 years old. This puts an end to the process of processing the file, which has been extraordinarily long and complex and has lasted more than 17 years.
The Ministerial Order contains a partial final approval and the request to the City to make certain corrections and corrections that are not, in any case, of a substantial nature.
The sustainable city model proposed by the new General Plan has as objectives environmental conservation, the compact functional structuring of the urban fabric, the improvement of facilities, free spaces and green areas and social integration. They are values that connect with the principle of sustainable territorial and urban development called for in article 3 of the Law on Land and Urban Rehabilitation of 30 October 2015, and also with the strategic vision deduced from the Spanish Urban Agenda, approved in February 2019.
