Between June 15 and July 15, the period that corresponds to the first month of Operation Strait Pass 2023, 156,776 people and 53,426 vehicles have left Ceuta for Morocco and, on the contrary, from Morocco to Ceuta, 113,305 people and 34,160 vehicles have entered. This data has meant that 357,667 checks have been carried out at the border by the State Security Bodies and Forces.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, it has gone from 338,354 controls to 357,667. There are 19,313 more verifications, which support the work of the National Police and the Civil Guard at the border. Some figures that assume that the average number of checks per hour, at the border perimeter, stood at 496.
During this period, there have been no incidents at the documentary and customs control points. And the average waiting time in the bagging area has not been more than an hour.
These high figures add value to the extraordinary work done by Civil Guard and National Police officials. A selfless task that underlines, once again, the deep sense of public vocation of both bodies.
The days marked as critical in the Departure Phase are July 29, 30 and 31 and August 1. For their part, in the Return Phase, 29, 30, 31 August and 1 September are expected to be the most complex days.
