Rosa López takes office as a subdelegate of the Government and calls for unity to face the challenge of depopulation
Takeover
May 2, 2024. Rosa López took office on Thursday as a deputy delegate of the Government in Salamanca in an act that has been presided over by the delegate of the Government, Nicanor Sen, whom she has urged to exercise with "respect, responsibility and firmness".
Sen has had words of remembrance for the former deputy delegate of the Government, Encarnación Pérez, whose death last July left the province and the State Administration in Salamanca orphaned. During this time, the position was in the hands, accidentally, of the General Secretary, Miriam Vicente, as established by the regulations for the cases of absence, vacancy or illness of the holder of the post, to which the delegate wanted to thank him for his dedication, his willingness and the services provided.
López also wanted to highlight the figure of Encarna, not only for being her predecessor but “a great friend and my teacher, who has given us a lesson of courage to face the difficulties of life”. During the speech of his inauguration, he highlighted depopulation as the great challenge faced by Salamanca, a task that “requires the involvement of all”, while appealing to peaceful coexistence, to respect and to combat hoaxes and lies.
Numerous authorities and public officials have wanted to accompany López in this act of taking office that has taken place in the Assembly Hall of the Delegation of Finance of Salamanca.
