January 16, 2024.- The Council of Ministers approved today, on the proposal of the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, the RD to modify the organic staff of the Fiscal Ministry to adapt it to the existing needs, alleviating the structural mismatch within the staff of the Fiscal Career.
Thus, in Castilla y León there are 23 places that increase in category, of the 219 third-category places that become second-category places in total, which implies a better management of the fiscal career throughout the territory and improve the remuneration conditions of the members of the fiscal career affected.
The 23 places that are upgraded in Castilla y León are: four places in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Burgos; two places in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Ávila; four places in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of León; one place in the Prosecutor’s Office of Area of Ponferrada; two places in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Palencia; three places in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Salamanca; two places in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Segovia; three places in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Zamora.
The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, assures that this measure supposes taking an important step on the path of modernization of the Fiscal Ministry that provides a solution to the existing imbalance, providing stability and legal security to the staff, harmonizing the proportion of third-category places with the judicial career and guaranteeing the right to receive the remuneration appropriate to the position effectively carried out.
In addition, the number of prosecutors is equated with that of magistrates in each judicial party and the number of seats subject to conversion by Autonomous Communities is determined, specifying that second category seats will be those whose holders, at the time of the entry into force of the royal decree, are the oldest prosecutors or tax lawyers in each case.
The overall number of personnel remains at 2,683 prosecutors. Of these, 28 are first-class; 2,229 are second-class; and 426 are third-class.
