December 29, 2023.- The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 32,776 households in which 95,260 people live at the end of the year in Castilla y León, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). 63.4% of the households benefiting from the 32,776 approved files were headed by a woman. In total, the IMV has reached 41,362 minors. The benefits with child support supplement (CAPI) reach 19,557 people in Castilla y León.
Of the 95,260 beneficiaries of the IMV in Castilla y León, 54% were women. By province, the aid reached 7,253 households in León, the largest number in the entire Community. The provincial distribution was as follows: Valladolid (6,585), Salamanca (5,239), Burgos (3,327), Zamora (2,677), Ávila (2,677), Palencia (2,377), Segovia (1,899) and Soria (742).
The largest number of beneficiaries was in the provinces of Valladolid (19,535) and León (19,432). In fact, between the two, they account for 41% of the total in the Community. The number of people benefiting by province continued as follows: Salamanca (14,667), Burgos (10,169), Ávila (8,171), Palencia (7,475), Zamora (7,175), Segovia (6,236), and Soria (2,400). As for the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), it reaches 19,557 people in Castilla y León.
In the whole of Spain, the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 735,562 households in which 2,157,712 people live, according to the statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total beneficiaries, 43.4% are minors (936,795). In addition, if we consider it by the number of households, in 68.2% there is at least one minor (501,915).
Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), they have already reached 451,190. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
