November 15, 2023.- Lieutenant Colonel of the Civil Guard Jesús García Aller has received the Medal of Merit of Road Safety from the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), category of Bronze with Blue Badge.
The deputy delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, has today imposed the medal on García Aller, in an act attended by the lieutenant colonel chief of Traffic of Castilla y León, Francisco González Iturralde; the lieutenant colonel chief of the Command of Segovia, Benito Donate; and the provincial head of Traffic, Pedro Pastor.
The Provincial Traffic Headquarters proposed this medal to distinguish “the dedication that this officer of the Civil Guard has made all the time he was assigned in the Traffic Specialty, with more than 20 years occupying the destination of head of the Traffic Subsector in the province of Segovia from the year 2004 to the year 2012 in which he ascended to the employment of commander. During that time he has demonstrated a great capacity for sacrifice, delivery and permanent availability in the performance of his tasks, he has always and at all times collaborated with the provincial head of Traffic.”
The deputy delegate of the Government “congratulates Lieutenant Colonel García Aller and thanks him for the work he has done for so many years.”
For the award of this medal, the DGT has valued the commitment of García Aller to “guarantee road safety on the roads of the province of Segovia, with an excellent and meritorious coordination of the human and material means over which he held the command. Likewise, it has participated directly in multiple interventions with the citizen on public roads, especially in times of adverse weather phenomena, contributing to extol the image of the institutions that ensure road safety.”
Traffic also highlights “the coordination and personal direction” of the lieutenant colonel during the snowfall episode of 2017, when the Executive Committee convened for actions foreseen in the Snowfall Coordination Protocol, “in which he represented the Civil Guard Command, making use of his great experience and knowledge of the terrain and the agents of the Subsector, took charge of the coordination of the different units that were on duty.” “The direction of the agents of the Subsector through radio communication, contributed to significantly reduce the risk situation endured by users who were trapped by the snow and to their rescue throughout the night,” adds the Provincial Traffic Headquarters.
