August 30, 2023.- The Ministry of Equality condemns a new murder for gender violence in the province of Salamanca. This is a 40-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered by her partner on August 30. The victim had two daughters and two minor sons. There were no previous complaints of gender-based violence against the alleged aggressor.
With the confirmation of this case, the number of women killed by gender violence in Spain amounts to 39 in 2023 and to 1,223 since 2003, when data collection began. Likewise, the number of children orphaned and orphaned by gender violence amounts to 45 in 2023 and 422 since 2013.
The Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, and the delegate of the Government against Gender Violence, Victoria Rosell, want to express once again their absolute condemnation and rejection of this male murder and transfer all their support to relatives and friends of the victim. Both the minister and the delegate call for all efforts from the institutions, administrations and the whole of society to arrive on time and avoid more deaths.

On the other hand, it also recalls that in an emergency situation you can call 112 or the emergency telephones of the National Police (091) and the Civil Guard (062). In case it is not possible to make a call and in a situation of danger, you can use the ALERTCOPS application, from which an alert signal will be sent to the police with geolocation. These means of assistance can be activated by the victim and also by anyone who knows or suspects a case of gender violence. It is a duty of the whole society.
