July 31, 2023.- The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 29,540 households in which 85,118 people live until the end of July in Castilla y León, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). Sixty-three per cent of the households benefiting from the 29,540 approved files were headed by a woman, and 65 per cent of them had at least one minor. In total, the IMV has reached 36,865 minors. The benefits with Child Support Supplement (CAPI) reach 17,174 people in Castilla y León.
Of the 85,118 beneficiaries of the IMV in Castilla y León, 54% were women. By province, the aid reached 6,532 households in León, the largest number in the entire Community. By provinces, the distribution was as follows: Valladolid (5.814), Salamanca (4.721), Burgos (3.054), Zamora (2.473), Ávila (2.458), Palencia (2.144), Segovia (1.179) and Soria (625).
The largest number of beneficiaries was in the provinces of León (17,304) and Valladolid (17,051). In fact, between the two, they account for 40% of the total in the Community. The number of people benefiting by province continued as follows: Salamanca (13,150), Burgos (9,366), Ávila (7,449), Palencia (6,681), Zamora (6,584), Segovia (5,567), and Soria (1,966)
In the whole of Spain, the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 661,338 households in which 1,921,747 people live, according to the statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) until the end of July. This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total number of beneficiaries, 43% are minors (831,208). In addition, if we consider the number of households, in more than 67% there is at least one minor (447,176). According to these data, in two out of three households the benefit holder is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 54 per cent are women (1,037,764).
Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), there are already 395,086. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
