In Valladolid there are 16 members of the Basic Scale that are distributed between the capital and Medina del Campo and six others of the Executive Scale
July 20, 2023.- The delegate of the Government in Castilla y León, Virginia Barcones, has welcomed the student agents in practices of the National Police Force deployed in Castilla y León. In particular, 107 agents arrive in the Community. Of that total, 16 recalan in the province of Valladolid.
The delegate has welcomed the new student agents in internships deployed in Castilla y León. To those who will develop their work during the next year in Valladolid, face-to-face through an act that has taken place in the National Police Commissariat - District Delicias. To the rest of the members through a streaming conference.
Virginia Barcones has thanked the new agents for the decision to dedicate their professional life to the service of citizens, an “honor” as it makes them “guarantors of the rights and freedoms” of our society.
A total of 107 student trainees arrive in Castilla y León. Of that number, 89 (68 men and 21 women) belong to the XXXVII promotion of the Basic Scale and 18 to the Executive Scale that are incorporated in the coming days. From the Base Scale to the province of Valladolid arrive 16 agents of which 9 will be deployed in the capital and five will develop their work in Medina del Campo. The distribution in the rest of the provinces is as follows: Six police officers in Ávila, six in Palencia, 13 in Salamanca (eight in the capital and five in Béjar), seven in Segovia, six in Soria, 17 in Burgos (seven in the capital, five in Aranda de Duero and five in Miranda de Ebro), six in Zamora and 12 in León (seven in the capital and five in Ponferrada).
The 18 agents of the Executive Scale are distributed as follows: six in Valladolid, four in Salamanca, three in Segovia, three in León, one in Ávila and one in Burgos.
Virginia Barcones has shown her conviction that all of them are going to carry out their work with “professionalism”, remaining faithful to the principles and values with which the institution was founded almost 200 years ago. These principles are fixed at the entrance of the National Police School of Ávila and speak of “service, dignity, dedication, loyalty”. “I know that you are going to develop with professionalism and determination what this Institution was created for: Serve and protect our society,” he said.
The delegate explained that Castilla y León is one of the safest communities in Spain with a rate in 2022 of 36.7 criminal offenses per thousand inhabitants, 12 points below the national average in one of the safest countries in the world.
A situation that, in the words of Virginia Barcones, is due to the “great work” carried out by the members of the National Police and Civil Guard. In Castilla y León there are currently 10,228 officers deployed after the latest additions made to the National Police and Civil Guard Corps. Of that total, more than 3,100 belong to a CNP that has 74,458 troops throughout Spain. In the last five years, 912 Civil Guard and National Police officers have joined Castilla y León, which represents an increase of 10% in force.
The delegate has made it clear to the new agents that, in order for Castilla y León to remain safe, they must remain vigilant. In this regard, he has stressed the importance of crime prevention. He has also highlighted the new challenges ahead as an incipient cybercrime “despite the fact that it already accounts for 25% of criminal offences”, without forgetting the challenge to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable citizens such as children, adults and women who are victims of male violence.
In this regard, he has asserted that the success of the National Police lies in its ability to adapt. He has been able to modernize, create different branches of specialties interconnected with each other. “I think we are all aware of the hard work that both the National Police and the Civil Guard are doing to make our society safe. And that is why our citizens are, and I am the first, proud of you,” he said.
Virginia Barcones has wished luck in working and professional life to the new agents in practices because this luck will also be that of the citizens. It has encouraged them to take advantage of the experience of the colleagues with whom they are going to work to improve their training.
Before concluding, he highlighted the good collaboration between the National Police Force and the Civil Guard. A coordination that is “a pride” for Castilian and Leonese society. Virginia Barcones has thanked the local police, private security, officials of penitentiary institutions and the judiciary for their collaboration with the State Security Forces.
