July 19, 2023.- A total of 119,453 citizens will be able to vote in Segovia in the next general elections on July 23.
Spanish residents in Spain (115,808 - Census of Spanish Residents in Spain - CER) and Spanish residents abroad (3,645 - Census of Spanish Residents Abroad - CERA) will be able to vote in these elections. The total number of voters has decreased by 38 compared to the elections of November 10, 2019.
A total of 4,782 citizens will vote for the first time in a general election, having reached 18 years since the last elections were held, on November 10, 2019.
ELECTORAL DEVICE
The deputy delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, has today presented at a press conference the electoral device for the general elections, which were convened by Royal Decree 400/2023, of May 29, on the dissolution of the Congress of Deputies and the Senate and the call for general elections. They are governed by the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (LOREG).
The deputy delegate of the Government said that “the operation is prepared so that citizens can exercise their right to vote with total normality and guarantees.”
In addition, he explained that the electoral census is the one closed on the first day of the second month prior to the date of the call, according to the LOREG (in this case, March 1).
The 250 polling stations in the province will have 330 tables, of which 63 will be installed in the city of Segovia and the rest will be divided into the remaining 208 municipalities.
The transmission of data will be made by the representatives of the Administration by tablets and by telephone from the polling stations to the unique Information Collection Center (CRI) located in Madrid. A total of 79 tablets will be distributed among the representatives of the administration and will cover electoral colleges of the city of Segovia and of the municipalities with the highest number of voters (Abades, Ayllón, Bernuy de Porreros, Cantalejo, Cantimpalos, Carbonero el Mayor, Coca, Cuéllar, El Espinar, Expirdo, Fuentepelayo, Hontanares de Eresma, La Lastrilla, Marugán, Mozoncillo, Nava de la Asuncion, Navelado
Regarding the human media, the device will have about 3,600 people in the province. Three are the area electoral boards in the province (Segovia, Cuéllar and Sepúlveda), with 18. Another 990 will make up the electoral tables and 330 will be the representatives of the Administration, one for each table. It is also necessary to unite the members of the State security forces and the personnel of the Government’s own Subdelegation and its units.
The number of ballot papers for the Congress of Deputies to be distributed in Segovia amounts to 853,333 and for the Senate, to 148,803.
The deputy delegate of the Government recalled that the regulations governing these elections (Organic Law 5/1985 of June 19, General Electoral Regime –LOREG-) establishes that the province of Segovia has three deputies and four senators.
As for the postal votes, 9,280 Segovians have requested this formula to exercise the right to participate in the elections.
Five citizens have requested the accessible voting kit in the province, two in Segovia (in the CEIP Fray Juna de la Cruz and in the Mariano Quintanilla institute), one in El Espinar (school of San Rafael), another in Torcolecalleros (Cultural Center) and another in Santa María la Real de Nieva (school canteen). This kit is intended for visually impaired people who know the braille reading and writing system and have a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 percent or are members of the ONCE.
In addition, the province will have nine tables with cognitive accessibility signage, in collaboration with Full Inclusion: four at the CEIP Carlos de Lecea and five at the Villalpando.
The Segovians will be able to elect three deputies from 11 candidacies:

6. Walking Together (CJ)
7. ADD
8. Animalist Party with the Environment (PACMA)

11. Communist Party of Workers (PCTE)
The four senators will be able to choose among the candidates the ten lists that attend the elections:
1. Popular Party (PP)
2. Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE)
3. Third Age in Action (3E)
4. VOX
5. Walking Together (CJ)
6. ADD
7. Animalist Party with the Environment (PACMA)
8. For a Fairer World (PUM+J)
9. Zero Cuts
10. Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE)
It should be remembered that for the Senate each voter will be able to choose a maximum of three candidates, marking between one and three equis the person or persons selected, who may or may not be part of the same political formation. For the Congress of Deputies, the complete list of the formation in question is voted on.
The security device for the day is also fully prepared for citizens to exercise their right to vote with all guarantees.
Regarding the election day, the subdelegate has indicated that each representative of the Administration will communicate the following information:
- Constitution of the table between 8:00 and 9:00 hours
- Data of participation first advance at 14:00 hours
- Data of participation second advance at 18:00 hours
- School closure and scrutiny starting at 20:00 hours
