- Castilla-La Mancha has completed the process with 52,041 applications
- The government delegate also charges against hate speeches saying that “it is regrettable that we want to confront workers with workers”
Sabrido values the process of regularizing immigrants as a “success”
The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha has positively valued the number of applications received in Castilla-La Mancha on the occasion of the extraordinary regularization of immigrants.
Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has positively valued the number of applications received in Castilla-La Mancha on the occasion of the extraordinary regularization of immigrants.
In an interview in ‘Castilla-La Mancha at 2’, by Radio Castilla-La Mancha, Sabrido stressed that the process has been “a success, because as you have seen, there have been many more people who are willing to continue, with their work, favoring the economic development of Spain”.
Castilla-La Mancha has had 52,041 applications within the process of extraordinary regularization of immigrants, in addition to receiving 11,535 appointments throughout the autonomous community. By province, Toledo has registered the most applications with 20,896; followed by Ciudad Real with 9,795; Albacete with 9,191; Guadalajara with 6,817; and finally Cuenca with 5,342.
“Normalization, social justice and economic necessity”
The government delegate has defended regularization as a process of normalization “because they already live with us”, of justice “because we have already heard the complaints of what it may mean not having papers” and of economic need, since according to data from the president, Pedro Sánchez, in 2050 immigrants would contribute 19% of the total Gross Domestic Product.
In addition, Sabrido has sent a message of recognition to all the agents involved in regularization: “The first thing I want to do is thank all the public officials and all the NGOs that have facilitated the process, which has been a success.”
Asked about the increase in the number of applications in relation to the forecasts, the government delegate has specified that Toledo and Ciudad have more applicants because two profiles are met.
On the one hand, related to the services sector or construction, in terms of the areas closest to Madrid, and related to the agricultural sector in the regions of La Mancha.
“Let us not demonize them, but thank them for their efforts to collaborate in the development of Spain”
In response to Vox’s criticism of the regularization process, Sabrido has asserted that “a policy that is not shared by workers or employers is being promoted by Vox,” while calling its policy “unacceptable.”
For the government delegate, it is “regrettable that we want to confront workers with workers” and this simply responds to “a way to take political gain from the confrontation.”
In this sense, Sabrido has assured that “this is the type of policies that we should not admit” and that “everything that is to seek confrontation between people must be inadmissible”.
On the other hand, he has valued the capacity of immigrants to contribute to the national economy, praising the “labor force” of the country, remembering that regularization will involve “more resources for Spanish society” and that “there are those who maintain that Spain grows more than twice as much as the European Union is thanks to these immigrants,” according to the data.
