Corral de Calatrava (Ciudad Real).- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, today highlighted Corral de Calatrava as “an example of good management and collaboration between administrations” in the use of European funds Next Generation.
During his visit, Sabrido reiterated the commitment of the Government of Spain to the development of the rural environment and to the promotion of policies that guarantee equal opportunities, wherever citizens live.
The delegate highlighted that the projects financed with these funds “have allowed many actions to be carried out for the benefit of the citizens”, highlighting the coordination between the General Administration of the State and the City Council.
In this regard, he stressed that “the management of the City Council has been able to take advantage of these resources for the benefit of neighbors, with actions such as children’s school, public works, culture or the improvement of services”, highlighting that it is “an example of how funds are used in favor of citizenship”. In total, the investments linked to the Next Generation funds in the municipality exceed 1.5 million euros, with actions in key areas such as education, culture, sustainability, employment or social services.
Among the projects developed are the creation of the children's school, the modernization of cultural infrastructures, the improvement of the water supply network, the pedestrianisation of the center, the renewal of public lighting or initiatives of social support and cultural dynamization.
For his part, the mayor of Corral de Calatrava, Andrés Cárdenas, thanked the institutional collaboration and stressed that “rural municipalities are very dependent on this close collaboration”, stressing that the agility in the management of these funds “is reflected in the quality of life of our neighbors”.
Cárdenas has highlighted that “when needs are transferred to the responsible agencies, the response is immediate”, which allows the development of projects that improve services and opportunities in the rural environment. It has also stressed that these investments represent an important boost for a municipality of around 1,200 inhabitants, consolidating services such as children’s school, also conceived as a regional resource, and advancing accessibility, sustainability and social cohesion.
