Toledo.- The delegate of the Government, Milagros Tolón, has pointed out that the Government of Pedro Sánchez "is contributing in an essential way to the development of Castilla-La Mancha with the greatest contribution of resources in history to combine economic growth with advances in social justice, solidarity, equality and sustainable development."
A momentum that will continue to be seen in 2025 “with the largest contribution in history by the Government of Spain to Castilla-La Mancha in terms of cash deliveries with a total of 6,957 million euros, 8.9 percent more than in 2024”, said the delegate. In total, including the liquidation of 2023, Castilla-La Mancha will receive in 2025 from the financing system 7,206 million euros.
Thus, in seven years of Pedro Sánchez’s government, “Castilla-La Mancha has received 41% more resources than in the seven years of Mariano Rajoy,” said Milagros Tolón, who said that, in particular, it is 12,490.9 million more.
In addition, Castilla-La Mancha benefits from the Recovery Plan of the Government of Spain with a total investment of 2,265 million euros distributed in 954 million euros from calls and tenders of the General Administration of the State (AGE) and 1,311 million euros allocated in sectoral conferences, with a total of 47,731 beneficiaries.
To this must be added the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, by which the community will receive 2,459 million euros of cohesion funds in this period, 22.3% more than in the previous period.
Public services
Together, “these funds confirm the commitment of the Government of Spain to Castilla-La Mancha, to our public services, to our productive fabric and promote key investments for the development of our region and the well-being of our people.”
With the Government of Pedro Sánchez, “Castilla-La Mancha has more resources, the largest in its history, to continue moving forward to build a more prosperous and equitable future for all,” said the delegate.
This is only an advance of the contribution planned by the Government of Spain for 2025 to give continuity to the support it has been providing for the social and economic development of Castilla de Castilla-La Mancha, “to continue contributing to improve the lives of the people and promote opportunities for prosperity for the Castile-Manchegos.”
Data
The socio-economic data released in 2024 confirm that the management of the Spanish Government and the measures it has adopted in recent years are reaching the real economy and are generating more employment, more wealth and a fairer distribution of resources, fulfilling the aforementioned objective.
In this regard, it is worth highlighting the different data that confirm the progress made by the Government’s measures, such as the increase in Social Security affiliations, which grew by 2.15% in 2024 to reach 789,341 contributors, 16,648 more than in December 2023 and 83,143 more than in December 2018.
The unemployment recorded in Castilla-La Mancha in December stood at 127,466 people, 5.44% less than a year ago; while indefinite contracts amount to 276,721, 269% more than in 2019.
The Government’s reforms, in addition to underpinning the economic growth of Spain and Castilla-La Mancha, have as their ultimate objective to advance a more just and supportive society, with special support for the most vulnerable groups. As a result of this strategy, in Castilla-La Mancha the average pension is 1,355 euros per month, which means 332 euros more than in 2018.
On the other hand, the Minimum Vital Income is received by 93,733 beneficiaries in the region and the Minimum Wage reaches 99,100 workers, while the Social Electric Bonus has 110,670 beneficiaries.
In terms of housing, one of the issues that most concerns the citizens, Castilla-La Mancha has received investments from the Government of Spain for public housing policies with a total value of 330 million euros since 2018, with which more than 13,500 homes have been rehabilitated and the construction of almost 900 new homes mobilized.
DANA
The Government of Spain has also responded to the DANA that affected several regions of Castilla-La Mancha last October, with an unprecedented mobilization of resources, up to a total of 16.6 billion euros for the most damaged areas, among which are the municipalities of Letur, in Albacete, and Mira, in Cuenca.
Among the measures taken to mitigate the effects of the floods, the Spanish Government has already approved two employment plans endowed with 810,000 euros for Letur and 770,000 euros for Mira. In addition, the Tax Agency has already agreed to the payment of 1.3 million euros in direct aid for companies and self-employed workers. On the other hand, 8 ERTE have been presented, which have benefited 25 people.
In addition, work has begun on the reconstruction of the agricultural roads in both municipalities and the Letur stream, for which 1,976,000 euros are allocated. For its part, the Insurance Compensation Consortium processes a total of 712 applications.
Main performances of 2024
Among the projects inaugurated or with the work begun during 2024 are the opening of the Cuenca and Puertollano police stations, the start of the works of the Institute of Legal Medicine, the bike path of the TO-23, the remodeling of the Toledo Supply Market, the actions to improve mobility in Guadalajara or the sale of the land by SEPES for the installation of a META center in Talavera de la Reina.
In the area of the Energy Transition, the Government of Spain shelved the project of the nuclear cemetery of Villar de Cañas and approved a significant aid of 242 million euros for a renewable hydrogen project in Ciudad Real.
Another key sector for the development of Castilla-La Mancha is agriculture and livestock farming. A total of 98,766 professionals from the autonomous community have benefited from the more than 206 million euros allocated by the Ministry of the branch to alleviate the effects of the war in Ukraine and the drought; and the payments of direct aid from the CAP of the 2024 campaign have exceeded 514 million euros.
With regard to equality, 36 agreements for the implementation of the VIOGEN System remain in force and the agreements for the implementation of Violet Points have been extended. And the care centers for victims of gender violence in Albacete, Guadalajara, Ciudad Real and Cuenca are already operational.
To meet the Demographic Challenge, the Government of Spain has allocated 61.7 million euros to expand 5G coverage and 4.7 million euros to municipal digitization. In terms of tourism and culture, it is worth highlighting the 11.5 million euros for the improvement of the historical heritage or the 4.2 million euros for 5 rehabilitation projects under the 2% Cultural.
In Health, the most significant allocation during 2024 has been the allocation of 41.5 million euros to address the change in the care model of the dependency system.
