The Government, through the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, has published the proposal for a definitive resolution of the line of aid of the Program for the Improvement of Competitiveness and Revitalization of the Historical Heritage with tourist use, by which Castilla-La Mancha will receive 11,501,437 euros for the improvement of tourist use in 5 Goods of Cultural Interest (BIC).

Minister Jordi Hereu considers it “essential to enhance and improve the competitiveness of Spain with a cultural tourism product that represents the identity, cultural diversity and rich historical heritage of our country” and, in this regard, he values “positively” the relevance of aid that “will serve to strengthen cultural tourism and that will contribute to the diversification, seasonalization and quality of our cultural offer, recognized internationally thanks to the 50 goods declared World Heritage by UNESCO”. Spain is the fourth country in Europe with the most places declared as a World Heritage Site and the fifth worldwide.
The actions to be carried out in these projects include the conservation, maintenance, valuation and rehabilitation of assets declared as Cultural Interest Assets for tourist use. It also includes other measures such as improving universal accessibility, improving energy efficiency and saving the consumption of water and energy resources, or reducing and compensating the carbon footprint, among others.
