Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, has received, together with the Chief General of the Civil Guard Area in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Javier Cortés, the 129 trainees who are already practicing in the territory of the autonomous community. They are components of the 129th and 170th promotion of access to the Cabos y Guardias Scale from the Civil Guard Guard Academy based in Baeza (Jaén) and the College of Young Guards “Duque de Ahumada” located in the Madrid town of Valdemoro.
The DNA of the Civil Guard
Milagros Tolón has stressed that, “as I said in the institutional act that we celebrated on October 12, values such as vigor, firmness, courage and loyalty define the Civil Guard, as reflected in your anthem under the motto of the Duke of Ahumada: The honor is my motto. As I said then, it’s not about empty words. These are qualities that are in your DNA and that in these 40 weeks of training you are going to prop up together with the dedication and the vocation of public service that you share with your fellow veterans.”
“For the Government of Spain,” said the delegate of the Government, “support for your institution is a priority and, therefore, it has been betting on the increase of personnel and means, which is reflected in the new public offer of employment, which includes 2,721 new places for the Civil Guard. In addition, in the last six years, almost 40 million euros have been invested in this autonomous community barracks, personnel, infrastructure and improvement of services, such as the acquisition of 29 drones.”
For all of this, “your will, professionalism and commitment to public service make Castilla-La Mancha one of the safest regions in Spain, with a crime rate that is 11 points below the national average”.
29 women
These student guards, including 29 women, will carry out their second internship phase in different units of the Command Offices of the Zone of Castilla-La Mancha, thus continuing their training, with an internship period that will last 40 weeks, after successfully completing the first academic course in the Corps’s teaching centers.
These practices aim to obtain the knowledge and professional experience in various operational areas, necessary to complete their training and finally acquire the employment of civil guard.
During this period, a small number of students will develop part of their practices in some specialties deployed throughout the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha such as, for example, the Traffic Group.
Distribution between the provinces of Castilla-La Mancha
Of these 129 civil guard trainees, 77 come to reinforce the staff of the Toledo Command, 5 to that of Guadalajara, 17 to that of Albacete, 25 to that of Ciudad Real and 5 to that of Cuenca. These additions reinforce the Civil Guard’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens, especially in rural areas affected by depopulation.
