Toledo, June 10, 2024. The Regional Commission for the Follow-up of the Special Plan for Employment in Depressed Rural Areas has today ratified, at a meeting held in the Government Delegation in Castilla-La Mancha, the proposals of the respective provincial commissions for 2024, approving the hiring of 2,233 unemployed workers in the agricultural sector with a budget of 12,215,248.44 euros.
In total, the number of municipalities that will have this Special Employment Plan for Depressed Rural Areas in Castilla-La Mancha amounts to 303 municipalities, who have presented 358 projects.
In this way, the breakdown by province after the approval of the proposals by the Regional Monitoring Commission would be as follows:
- Albacete: 586 workers with a budget of 3,218,493.66 euros.
- Ciudad Real: 937 workers hired on a budget of 5,130,168.54 euros.
- Cuenca: 316 contracted with a budget of 1,735,569.96 euros.
- Guadalajara: 11 workers hired on a budget of 27,416.55 euros.
- Toledo: 383 contracted with a budget of 2,103,554.73 euros.
This Plan of the Government of Spain, which is carried out through the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE), subsidizes the total salary costs (SMI plus social security) of the workers hired, for 3 months, by the municipalities to carry out projects of social or general interest in their municipalities.
In the course of this meeting, it has also been reported that Royal Decree-Law 2/2024 of 21 May has been approved, which adopts urgent measures for the simplification and improvement of the level of assistance of unemployment protection, which allows the compatibility of unemployment benefits with work, a measure that had been demanded by the organizations.
The meeting was attended by the deputy delegate of the Government in Toledo, Carlos Ángel Devia, in addition to those responsible for the Work Area and the Agriculture Area of the Government Delegation, General Treasury of Social Security, SEPE, Board of Communities, ASAJA, the unions CC.OO. and UGT, CECAM and FEMP.
