Guadalajara.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, has started the day in Azuqueca de Henares with a visit to the works of expansion of the House of Culture, to whose funding the Government of Spain has contributed one million euros through the funds of the Strategy of Integrated Sustainable Urban Development (EDUSI) developed by the City Council.
In this regard, Tolón has highlighted the importance of collaboration between administrations to carry out projects such as this, "which will soon be enjoyed by the neighbors of Azuqueca", he said. This action will involve a total investment of more than 3.3 million euros, which is being executed on the plot of the former headquarters of the Civil Guard, in front of the current House of Culture, opened in 1984.
During the tour of the works, the delegate has been accompanied by the mayor of the town, José Luis Blanco, and by the subdelegate of the Government, Mercedes Gómez, and the delegate of the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha, José Luis Escudero.
The expansion of the Casa de la Cultura will allow us to respond to a cultural concern that is now limited by the lack of spaces for the municipal workshops of Painting, Sculpture, Dance, Music and Interpretation, whose 600 places are exhausted each course, generating a waiting list. The new building has an area of 2,800 square meters built, with a large outdoor terrace at the top that would facilitate the construction of new facilities, if necessary. In addition to exhibition spaces and rooms where the classes of the municipal workshops will be taught, it will also be the headquarters of the Band of Music.
The delegate of the Government has also held a meeting with the Government Team of the City Council and has signed in the Book of Honor, highlighting the “kindness” of Azuqueca and the “economic and social development that it is experiencing, always benefiting neighbors and neighbors”.
